Beau Beard graduated cum laude from Colgate University in with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and was elected to the history Phi Alpha Theta honorary society. He received his JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In addition, he received an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business, where he was selected for membership into the Beta Gamma Sigma business school honor society.
The focus of Beau's practice is corporate law and corporate bankruptcy/insolvency law. His corporate practice includes areas such as day-to-day business contractual work, buying and selling businesses or their assets, and working with family-owned and closely held businesses in dealing with issues such as redemptions, buy/sell arrangements, shareholder and shadow equity agreements, transitions and other matters unique to such organizations. His bankruptcy and insolvency practice includes both bankruptcy and especially out-of-court workout experience representing both creditors and debtors.
Community service and volunteer work are in important an integral part of Beau's life. Some of his current community and volunteer work includes serving: on the Board of the St. Margaret's Hospital Foundation, on the Board of Vintage (where he is currently the president of the Board), as a Trustee of the Paddington Foundation, and on the Finance Committee of the Fox Chapel Golf Club.
